Re: 13) Change Memory-split to 384.
If you have a model A RPi or an early model B with only 256 meg of memory then I’d advise changing this to 128. (The default is 258 and can lead to games stuttering due to lack of memory if you have one of these systems)FJGonzalez – there are a couple of methods. If you got to Step 11, then whilst using sudo raspi-config, go to advanced options. It should be possible to select output here. Alternatively, it can be set through retropie-setup or set manually.
in reply to: version 2 menu not appearing #19056Could be a memory split issue. From command line use sudo raspi-config and check options. 256 is the retropie default but I have to reduce to 128 as I have an early model b.
in reply to: MAME not working #14815Make sure mame.cfg points to the right location for roms
in reply to: What controllers are you using? #13883>>>But Iam willing to bet up and left still have issues.
Nope, it all works. Emulation Station recognises the controller and correctly configures buttons on first boot.
Configuring controller through RetroArch also works fine.in reply to: Cave Story saving not working & other problems #13471Re: cave story saves – the save game folder is probably write protected (this was the case in v2.1).
I’ll check later on to be sure, but the folder is located in emulatorcores/nxengine-liberato/datafiles.
When the saves work properly, they will appear here as Profile.dat.
I made the folder writeable by logging into the pi as administrator through winSCP and changing the folder properties. Others here will probably use nice command lines. Hope this helps!in reply to: What controllers are you using? #13068I’ve just found that the Xin-Mo Xin-Mo Dual Arcade usb joystick controller works straight out of the box now in v2.X without the need to install separately – great work, thank you!
in reply to: Retropie 2.2 N64 emulator crash at start #12818I don’t think anyone is having much luck with N64 recently:
All recent versions that I have tried that have worked have been very choppy and are generally unplayable.
Some promising progress is being made however in Mupen64plus as detailed here:…so watch this space…
in reply to: mame in retropie 2.1 are changed ? #12054see the bottom of this thread for details.
Essentially mame.cfg needs to be edited so that it looks for roms in the right location.
Similar thing for samples if you are using samples.in reply to: RetroPie-Setup Script [rp2.1] #11890cd ~/RetroPie-Setup
sudo ./retropie_setup.shin reply to: How to use mame4all #11867Thank you all – updating mame.cfg as above solved all my issues (still using 0.37b11 romset)
in reply to: Line 11: Directory Missing… RetroPie won't run… #11712Justin – the supernintendopi page was previously great – I used it myself successfully for installing v1.9 and 1.10. The current release has a different folder structure however as described in the blog post here:
retroarch.cfg for example is located in /opt/retropie/configs
Hope this helps!
in reply to: How to use mame4all #10650Nemo93, sorry to jump in here but hopefully we can work out what’s happening here.
My romset is 0.37b11 and worked absolutely fine in v1.10.1 with default setting (mame4all). Same roms haven’t worked in either v2 or v2.1 (SD image). The relevant section from es_systems.cfg is as follows:
<fullname>MAME</fullname>
<name>mame</name>
<path>~/RetroPie/roms/mame</path>
<extension>.zip .ZIP</extension>
<command>/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh 4 “/opt/retropie/emulators/mame4all-pi/mame %BASENAME%”</command>
<!– alternatively: <command>/opt/retropie/emulators/RetroArch/installdir/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/emulatorcores/imame4all-libretro/libretro.so –config /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg –appendconfig /opt/retropie/configs/mame/retroarch.cfg %ROM% </command> –>
<platform>arcade</platform>
<theme>mame</theme>…and seems to suggest that mame4all is being initiated so all a bit weird to me.
in reply to: What controllers are you using? #10609Xbox wired controller works great.
For the Xin-Mo Xin-Mo Dual Arcade I was pulling my hair out for a while wondering why up and left didn’t work but saw on the blog a workaround. Is this something that will be incorporated into v2 as standard?
Am loving the look of the Retrolink Snes controllers – think they will be my next purchase!
in reply to: RetroPie 2.0 help #10521Great work folks, v2.0 is shaping up nicely!
The rom folder for atariStSteFalcon is also missing. Easy enough to add it in though.
Thank you for the advice to enable editing of the opt folder – I was unable to transfer my Cave Story save games without it.in reply to: RetroPie Project Contest #10168My current setup is rather basic with a lazer-cut pi case connected to a wall mounted TV:
