I skipped 3.5 and went to 3.6 and it exits fine from that version.

It installs OK on a fresh image of 3.6 on a spare SD however I really don’t want to wipe my card and start again as the config and directorys are set up perfectly.

    Any suggestions?

They have the raspabian OS as a download on their site that’s all so figured the rpi2 image might work

What about the Orange Pi2 ? Would this machine be any better than the original? Anyone tried it. Will it run Retropie at all ?

Your line looks the same as mine so I would use the same one did.

I’m not an expert but isn’t part of your RC.local command #’d out which means it get skipped.

Take out the # before the Xboxdrv bit?

just one thing now, the left analogue controls mouse and the A button selects, none of the other buttons seem to do anything, is that normal?

I looked inside mouse.cfg and it looks like most of buttons should do something.

I have it working! fantastic :-)

Because i rebuilt a new 3.5 i was able to start with a clean rc.local file mine had lots of “stuff” in it.

removed, copied and pasted into the old one removing the weird garbage add the –alt lines and works.

Im running the current version of RPi maybe its incompatible with the cfg’s your using ?

I think i might quickly test a fresh image before i restore my old one :-)

Ok so here is what i did, copy mouse.cfg to /usr/local

in putty, run > sudo chown pi:pi /usr/local/mouse.cfg

    edit rc.local in texpad and pasted /opt/retropie/supplementary/xboxdrv/bin/xboxdrv” –daemon –id 0 –led 2 –deadzone 4000 –silent –trigger-as-button –alt-config –mouse –next-controller –id 1 –led 3 –deadzone 4000 –silent –trigger-as-button –dbus disabled –detach-kernel-driver &
    exit 0

without the ” at the start.

will give that a go now, just waiting on a reboot

The mouse config is in exactly the same place i notice my line has a quote at the start where as yours dont, do i need the quote or not ?

Tried that still didnt work, im just going to back up my roms and re install a backed up image i made when it was all working and try again. Something has messed up the driver somehow because even though the pad is working fine in the UI and configuring, the green ring is flashing all 4 segments which in itself isnt right, i dont know how editing one line in a file can cause it to do that but it has :-D

I shall report back in a few hours.

im unsure, because i use flashFXP to download the files then a program called TEXTPAD which usually saves in whatever format it was in (so long as you dont select to save) just trying the permissions setting now.

What i dont understand is why segment 1 on the pad is no longer solid and all my emulators arent configured for it now.

Thats weird, i copied the text back to my file exactly how it was and it still flashing. The pad works in the UI ok though.

That didnt seem to work, it left me with a green flashing ring on the pad (usually segment one lights up) and i had to redefine the controller as if it was a new set up.

In my rc.local i dont seem to have any of the lines from the page you linked for me.

    I have…

    “/opt/retropie/supplementary/xboxdrv/bin/xboxdrv” –daemon –id 0 –led 2 –deadzone 4000 –silent –trigger-as-button –next-controller –id 1 –led 3 –deadzone 4000 –silent –trigger-as-button –dbus disabled –detach-kernel-driver &
    exit 0

Can i just follow those instructions but just use the mouse.cfg ? everything else about my retropie set up is working perfectly. I just want the mouse/controller in Kodi.

OOooh i had forgotten all about this question, i will try and take a look at this again over the next couple of days. In theory the aimtrak should just work because its basically a mouse? I think mice just work if plugged in dont they?

in reply to: Aimtrak Lightgun #110221

Ok so I decided to get the aimtrak light gun on the basis that my main emulation machine is PC and if I can get it working on PI and my other devices then its a bonus. I read about the mame.INI.

Did you ever get this working? I am also looking to get either one of Aimtrack or the Wireless version with dongle.

Thanks for the link, i asked the question when it started to compile/install it took hours and saw the new folder once it had completed. Its a great work in progress however games that used to be ok seem not to run and games like Salamander 2 which should be ok as Salamander 1 is are also a bit slow.

    Still great progress though :-)

Yes there is a game pad flag that needs to be enabled, sadly i have NO idea how to compile it :-/

Was kinda hoping and expert from here would know/ do it.

[quote=104480]i wonder if there is any harsh in compiling kodi with joypad support, since mostly build for Rpi doesn’t get it.

Perhaps I miss understood the repkys I got previously because I thought they said retropie gamepad was not set by default. How do I update kodi manually? I’ll test 15.1

Are you allowed to have multiple rom paths so for example, mame can use my negoeo roms folder so i dont have to have duplicates?

I too am unable to get my 360 pad working with mame4all, curiously it works in the UI but cannot get it working on games. other emulators are fine, barring lr-pifba which also doesn’t work!

herbfargus would you be the right person to ask about the other post i made? lr-pifba doesnt work with any controls?

ahh ok. And im guessing its not something can quickly be turned on with a bit of code or a patch then. I know from alot of forum reading it sure is a thing that a lot of people would like, its a pain having to switch to a keyboard to use the Pi when i move it in my other room and hook it up to the projector.

Hi. I followed the instructions in the video above and 360 wireless pad works flawlessly in kodi however it then breaks all the controls in all the emulators and the pad stops working. I then have to wipe and start again.

Is there another way to get it working?

Has anyone sorted this? I have exact same issue and i am using clean install of B3 RC1 and lr-fba isnt picking up my joypad but other retroarch emus are fine.
